ANGUS

Discover the Birthplace of Scotland: Angus, Scotland!

Often overlooked by non-golfers, Angus is a region in Scotland that's home to some of the world's best golf courses. But there's so much more to Angus than just golf! It's the birthplace of Scotland, and even Shakespeare was excited by its beauty - Glamis Castle is said to have inspired his play Macbeth!

Here are some of my favourite places in Angus:

1️⃣ Arbroath:
With its colourful historic harbour and abbey, Arbroath is a must-visit. But did you know that the Declaration of Arbroath was signed here in 1320, earning Angus the nickname "Scotland's Birthplace"?

2️⃣ Signal Tower, Arbroath:
Step back in time at the Signal Tower, now a museum dedicated to the fishing industry and lighthouses. The staircase is particularly impressive!

3️⃣ Arbirlot:
The name Arbirlot sounds like something out of a fantasy novel, and this charming little waterfall under a bridge adds to its magical touch.

4️⃣ Boddin Point:
Explore the abandoned lime kilns at Boddin Point, already abandoned since 1830. The picturesque old boats make for a perfect foreground in your photos.

5️⃣ Glamis Castle:
Glamis Castle was the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and the birthplace of Princess Margaret. It's also said to have inspired William Shakespeare's Macbeth.
