Lonesome Cottages in Scotland
Don’t you agree - there is something unique, something special about a lonesome cottage in the vast landscape of Scotland. I instantly picture myself curled up by the wood burner in a lonesome cottage, sipping on a wee dram of whisky, and reading a good book while the rain patters against the panes. Taking long hikes with a furry companion, seeking inspiration from the majestic scenery for my next photos and books.
Reality may be a tad different - draughty windows, leaky gutters, patchy internet, hordes of tourists in summer, and a lonely existence in winter, with the nearest supermarket over 100 miles away (forget about Amazon Next Day Delivery!).
But hey, dreaming is free, right? So, here are some of my favourite traditional Scottish cottages from both the Highlands and the Islands.
